Burley Stahmer Sanks, Barbara Ann Nov 21, 1929 - Aug 25, 2017 Preceded in death by parents, Ward and Nadine Burley; sister Nadine Cantwell; and former husband David H. Stahmer. She is survived by husband Floyd L. Sanks; children: Ward Stahmer, Carol (Richard) Jones, and Claudia (Joseph) Fanning; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Barbara co-founded the Nebraska Coalition for the Educationally Handicapped in the early 1970's, with the goal that all children enrolled in public schools would be entitled to an equal education. Barbara was also honored by the Omaha Women's Political Caucus for her outstanding contributions to the city of Omaha. Mrs. Sanks lived a fulfilling life of service to others. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday at 10am at Crosby Colonial Chapel. Donations may be made to Radio Talking Book Service; or the Josie Harper Hospice House.
